Funding Received for Working with Homeless Families

Vicksburg Commons

The Family Housing Fund has awarded IOCP a $10,000 grant to support housing case management at Vicksburg Commons for families who have experienced long-term homelessness.

Specifically, the grant will provide for intensive services, crisis intervention, connections to community resources, and access to basic needs and emergency financial assistance through IOCP—all with the goal of retaining formerly homeless families as residents at Vicksburg Commons.

Located in northern Plymouth, Vicksburg Commons has 4 of its 50 affordable housing units designated for families who were formerly homeless. An IOCP housing case manager works specifically with these families to help stabilize them.

“I measure success based on housing stability,” said Jess Jaderston, IOCP housing case manager. “It’s incredibly satisfying to work directly with families who have so many needs and to help them get back on their feet, watch them gain trust in others, and gradually become part of a community.”
