Sleep Out, Larson Break Records
Recent major gifts have propelled the Sleep Out Campaign to $1,568,429, IOCP’s biggest ever in terms of cash donations.
“We are grateful beyond measure for the generosity and commitment of this community to stay with us during good and hard times,” said LaDonna Hoy, executive director.
In addition, 3,234 individuals donated to the campaign this year, compared to 2,719 last year. Though the sleeping out aspect of the campaign ended Dec. 23, IOCP is accepting donations for the 2009 Sleep Out through the end of its fiscal year on March 31.
Peter Larson, 15-year-old Plymouth resident and sophomore at Wayzata High School, ended his individual odyssey in a box for 39 nights by raising $112,428, over and above his personal goal of $100,000. In his 10 years of sleeping out, he’s brought in nearly $300,000 for housing needs in our community. Check out his amazing story!
