Cargill foursome wins Earl Cup

Earl Cup 09 winning foursome
August 11, 2009

Four employees of Cargill’s gas department shot a combined 58 to capture the 7th annual Earl Cup Aug. 6, at Baker National Golf Course. Jake Sperber, Jessica Beckman, Andy Carter, and Jordan Bronce made up the winning team.

Second place honors went to members of the Plymouth and Wayzata Rotary Clubs: Benjamin Rischall, Brandon Walters, and Mike Lee. Coming in third were John Essel, Noah Rouen, Rob Sigfridson, and Scott Winterbottom, representing The Foursome. John Hite won the putting contest.

The Earl Cup was begun to honor Earl, who came to Wayzata and struggled with schizophrenia. With no family in the area, he lived at IOCP for 10 years and became well known in the community.
