Rep. Paulsen Visits Food Shelf, Recognizes IOCP before U.S. House
On July 2, U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen visited IOCP’s food shelf, where he and staffers filled bags for distribution.
“He rolled up his sleeves and worked alongside staff and volunteers,” said Susan Fetterer, director of volunteer services. “It means a lot that he is aware of the tremendous need for food and emergency services in our area, and that he supports our work.”
A week later, Rep. Paulsen stood before the U.S. House in Washington, D.C., reminding his fellow lawmakers that the primary reason they were there was to serve.
“I have constant reminders of that spirit of service throughout my district,” Paulsen said. “Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners helps people who are facing a crisis—whether it be a sudden job loss or dealing with serious health care issues.”
He went on to say that the spirit of service IOCP embodies “is something we should strive for each day.”
