Target funds direct services

Target has awarded IOCP $50,000 to provide emergency financial assistance to families experiencing crises, primarily around housing issues. This funding, the largest grant IOCP has received from Target, gives a real boost to helping IOCP respond to people’s most pressing basic needs, including food, shelter, utilities, transportation, medical, and child care.

Due to budget cuts this past year, IOCP has had to tighten its eligibility criteria, limiting the number of people served. “This grant gives us the opportunity to regain ground in our direct, emergency assistance to families in need,” said Wendy Geving, IOCP program director.

The goal of the grant is for families to have safe, stable housing, learn and apply critical life skills, become familiar with community resources and begin to use them, and achieve economic stability and solutions for their lives.
