Working Families To Get Strong Housing Start
The IOCP community has a unique opportunity to give 6 working families in our area a strong start.
Churches, businesses, groups, or organizations can adopt a unit at the Boulevard Apartments, our latest affordable housing project at 645 Wayzata Blvd. The cost—$3,000/unit—will support the purchase of window treatments, dining tables and chairs, and appliances. Donations of one or more items are also accepted.
Sponsors are needed now so the units will be ready by September 1.
Sponsors are also needed to fund the $5,000 material costs to build a playground on site. A 15-year-old Orono youth, Zac Hofkes, is coordinating the playground installation as his service project to become an Eagle Scout.

Boulevard Apartments has 5 two-bedroom and 1 one-bedroom units, all at affordable rents. The apartments are conveniently located on a transit route, and within walking distance to a middle school, shopping center, and medical clinic, and offers proximity to IOCP’s main office.
Funders
Funding is being provided by the State of Minnesota, the Metropolitan Council, Hennepin County, federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, Presbyterian Homes, IOCP, and Black River Asset Management Group, a subsidiary of Cargill. Community volunteers are involved in preparing the units for tenants.
