The Prevent Hunger campaign is Interfaith Outreach’s annual effort to address—and prevent—hunger right here in the western suburbs. The campaign kicks off March 1, with a goal of raising $150,000 and collecting 100,000 pounds of food, personal/household and cleaning donations before March 31. Your generous donation to the Prevent Hunger campaign, which is part of the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign, will keep our food shelf stocked and offer critical family support and employment services. When community members like you come together to help our neighbors, families like Kelly’s (right) achieve better health, more success in their careers and a stable financial future.
“I want to provide for myself. I want to be at a point where I don’t need help,” -Kelly
With the help of Interfaith Outreach staff and volunteers, Kelly will complete her degree next year and is closer to the day when she won’t need Interfaith Outreach’s help anymore. Because of your gifts to Interfaith Outreach, the floodgate of possibilities opened wide for Kelly. She is studying hard now and in 2018 she will graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Please help us meet the needs of families like Kelly’s by making a financial donation, donating food or organizing a food drive.
Here are some examples of the impact your tax deductible gift can make:
• $100 can purchase 385 meals for the families we serve
• $500 can fund three months of case management work with a struggling family to assess, create and begin working a plan to stabilize and thrive
• $1,000 can send a jobseeker to specialized technical training to increase earnings
Cash donations are accepted in person, by mail or online. If donating by check, please write “Prevent Hunger” on the memo line.
Food donations are accepted from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Schedule large donations by calling 763-489-7530.
Together we can make sure no one in our community goes to bed hungry. Your food shelf donations and financial contributions feed families and fuel hope to build better futures for all who call our community home.
