Every Child Deserves a Birthday

Birthdays are a special time of celebration, a time to gather with friends and family to rejoice in the life of a loved one. Birthdays can also be a burden. The expense of a party, cake, and birthday presents does not fit in the budget of a family living month to month.

Girl Scout Troop 12515 knows that birthdays are important! As the troop brainstormed for their Bronze Award Project, they decided that every child deserves a birthday party! Together, these young girls planned and led a carnival for Girl Scout Brownies to attend.

Using their leadership and creativity, the troop raised enough funds to carry out their goal. With money raised from the event, Troop 12515 bought cake mix, frosting, candles, party decorations, and gifts to fill up 51 birthday bags! The Troop delivered the birthday bags to IOCP, helping to make sure that every child has a special and memorable birthday.
