Special Programs

Throughout the year, IOCP volunteers coordinate special programs for people in the IOCP service area. The generosity of community members through financial and in-kind support has made these efforts successful year after year.

Weekly Needs
A once-a-week e-mail request for immediate, specific needs of IOCP families. Needs include household items, gift cards for groceries, gas, and other basic needs, or a particular request. To receive this weekly e-mail, contact Wendy Geving.

Holiday Adopt-a-Family
Links about 500 families requesting holiday gift assistance with sponsors who anonymously provide gifts for every family member.

Holiday New Client Program
Provides gifts to families who are new to IOCP during the holiday season.

Back to School
Provides the required supplies to help about 600 kids K through 12 have a strong start to the school year.

Baby Layettes
Available to IOCP families expecting a newborn. Include blankets, infant clothes, diapers, and other nursery necessities. Donations welcome year-round

Birthday Shelf
Gifts for children ages 1 to 18 are available for families served by IOCP. In addition, birthday bags contain party favors, cake mix, presents, and all the trimmings for a child’s birthday party. Donations welcome year-round.

Easter Baskets
Volunteers distribute about 600 baskets filled with toys and goodies to IOCP families with children ages 1–18.

Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners responds to emergency needs, moves families toward stability and positive change, and engages volunteers and partners in service, leadership, and capacity building.
