Transportation

Many IOCP families lack access to reliable transportation. Based on critical need, IOCP provides financial assistance for car maintenance and repair, help with car payments, car license tabs, as well as gas certificates and bus passes.

The RIDES program relies on volunteers who provide transportation to medical appointments and Adult Basic Education classes for community residents regardless of income.

We also partner in the Family Car Initiative, a regional effort of suburban providers that makes used cars available to low-income families.

Based on availability, IOCP provides used cars to families and individuals for work, school, or medical purposes. These donated cars are inspected for safety and maintenance concerns.

To donate a car, contact Jean Leber or call (763) 489-7521.

For more information about our Rides program and to volunteer, contact Liz Erstad-Hicks or Lynn Vettel.

A donated car helps people get and keep a job.

Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners responds to emergency needs, moves families toward stability and positive change, and engages volunteers and partners in service, leadership, and capacity building.
