In October of 1979, a small band of believers came together to launch an outreach project called Interfaith Outreach under the passionate vision of LaDonna Hoy. Founder and Executive Director Emerita, Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners.
Since then the organization has grown tremendously, identifying the varied causes of suburban poverty and matching the resources to fill those needs in the Twin Cities west metro.
The 2019 Spread Your Wings Gala kicked off the 40th anniversary year, as the organization announced a special fund, called the Founders Fund, with continued focus on cross-system structure, outcomes and impact in three key areas: housing, education and mental health. The fund and the gala honor and celebrate four decades of community support as Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners moves through its 40th year of service (1979-2019).
Throughout 2019, donors, program participants, volunteers, staff and every community member can find their irreplaceable role and be part of the celebration. Watch for the Interfaith Outreach booth and parade appearance at James J. Hill Days. Also, details are taking shape for a community-wide event where the entire community can gather to honor partnerships and strengthen relationships – the ties that bind the fabric of this amazing community together.
