We must begin this letter by celebrating the arrival of flowers, green grass, leaves on trees and sunshine. Spring has sprung and it is marvelous! We must also say the past two months have pushed us to find joy in the small things, like a bird’s chirp, a walk in nature.
Interfaith Outreach staff continue to make plans to expand our services model – adjusting our work in this COVID-19 era. We continue to prioritize offering food, emergency financial assistance, employment support and welcoming new clients. As the Governor continues to lift restrictions, we are carefully assessing what our return to “normal” will look like. (Watch Interfaith emails and our Facebook page for updates.)
What we expect is to pivot forward into a new normal – a nimble, responsive, client-centric, safety-first normal – that delivers our promise to the community in slightly different, but equally effective ways.
As you read this, the Interfaith Outreach team is planning the expansion of our COVID-19 era services to accommodate increased needs this summer. While we don’t know the exact details just yet, we are talking to clients, volunteers and other stakeholders to expand what we offer. We will be responsive to community need while protecting all for the good of all.
We will continue to be excellent stewards of the resources that our community has generously offered to us. On balance, we are on solid ground right now which allows us to be in position to respond quickly. We will continue to assess our position in a proactive manner going forward, as we always have.
We have experienced incredible energy and commitment from supporters like you. Thank you for walking with us as we “pass the torch” during this final month of our planned leadership transition. That torch shines bright. We believe in igniting the power of community. In these current times, we are reminded that community power is reciprocal. In the face of adversity, our communities are responding with action, support and hope. For the light you shine on our work now and in the future, we are forever grateful.
