At Interfaith
we don’t need a special day
to celebrate the reasons we are so thankful,
but it’s nice to have one
just the same.
We have the privilege every day
of seeing hope and dreams rekindled
thanks to you
and to a community that routinely
opens the door to all its blessings, saying
welcome, shalom, buenos dias, namaste
in languages and to neighbors
both familiar and new to us.
A community
where, together, we all find a home,
a safe and caring place in each other
through the power of a love that loves us all
no matter the woundedness or struggle
we bring with us to the table.
A love bigger and more powerful
than our fears.
On Thanksgiving Day
and every day
our hearts leap with thanks for the privilege
of being at this sacred table
and sharing this blessed feast with you.
