The health and safety of our community is our priority. Our redesigned service delivery model focuses on food, emergency financial assistance, employment support and welcoming new clients.
The Interfaith Outreach Employment Services team is linking people to the resources they need. The team is aggregating lists of jobs that are still available, as well as offering remote consultations such as resume review, interview preparation and job search help. The team is also sharing information from the MN DEED website about the expanded unemployment benefits through the CARES ACT and encouraging clients to apply for the unemployment benefits they may be newly eligible to receive. As unemployment benefits end in the coming months, we anticipate an even greater need for employment support.
The Employment Services team has also stepped into expanded roles at Interfaith Outreach. For example, they are helping case managers who are addressing rising requests for financial support as folks struggle to balance their budgets.
WANT TO PARTNER WITH US?
The Interfaith Employment Services team is looking to partner with local employers. Talk with us about your job opportunities that provide (or can lead to) family-sustaining wages. We especially want to talk to you if you are a west metro employer. Call 763-489-7500 or email the Employment Services Team at employmentservices@iocp.org for more information. The Interfaith Outreach Employment Services program has the primary goal of supporting individuals to find employment that meets their financial needs.
MEET CODY
For Cody, (read his story), finding employment that met his needs meant connecting him to job training for higher wages in a field that provided two other key components — benefits eligibility and a predictable schedule — to add to his increased stability.
